Disadvantages of the SsangYong D29DT engine
This diesel engine has a Bosch in-line high-pressure fuel pump and is robust and easy to use;
The cylinder head bursts easily, so keep an eye on cooling and change the antifreeze on a regular basis. Don’t save oil, as this will shorten the life of the fuel pump and hydraulic lifters.
Glow plug and injector nozzle wiring is frequently changed up to 100,000 km; closer to 200,000 km, the timing chain frequently stretches and the turbocharger fails.
