Since 1998, the 1.3-liter Toyota 8A-FE gasoline engine has been manufactured in Tianjin and is found in both Chinese and Japanese automakers’ vehicles. Such a unit is called LF479Q3 on Lifan vehicles and MR479Q on Geely vehicles.

The engines 8A-FE, 5A-FE, 5A-FHE, 4A-FE, 4A-FHE, 4A-GE, 4A-GZE, and 7A-FE are also part of the A family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Toyota Vios 1 (XP40) in 2002 – 2006.

Disadvantages of the 8A-FE engine
First of all, this motor frequently has subpar parts and assembly.
Lubricant consumption, which can occur up to 100,000 kilometers, comes in second.
Injector and throttle contamination is typically the cause of the floating engine speed.
Sensors and ignition system components are also among the engine’s weaknesses.
There are no hydraulic compensators, and the valves must be periodically adjusted.
