Engine Scania DC11

Strong engines for heavy-duty machinery are part of the Scania DC11 series. For trucks and tractor units that must operate in challenging road and weather conditions, they are ideal. The four Scania DC11 engine modifications produced by the manufacturer are DC1101, DC1102, DC1103, and DC1104. Four-stroke DC11 power units have a 10.6-liter capacity and six cylinders arranged in a row.

For DC1101 and DC1103, the stroke is 140 mm and the bore is 127 mm. The piston stroke was increased to 154 mm in a more potent version (DC1102 and DC1104), increasing the working volume and raising the internal combustion engine power to 380 “horses.”

Scania commercial vehicle engines currently come in over 20 different brands. The developers introduced a modular design as a result of their efforts to enhance the engines. A single 127 mm-diameter piston group, independent 4-valve cylinder heads, and electronically controlled pump nozzles set the new generation of internal combustion engines apart.

All Scania diesel engines are currently manufactured using modular technology. The cost of spare parts is greatly decreased when production is unified. The first European automaker, Scania, is the only one that has used this technology extensively to date; it was probably taken from the defense sector.
