Engine Mercedes OM364

The Mercedes-Benz OM364 engine is well-known for its straightforward, unassuming, and dependable design. It lacks turbocharging and has a mechanical injection pump. For more than 20 years, it has been outfitted with CLAAS farm equipment. Generators, pneumatic compressors, small excavators, motor pumps, and other superstructures can all be powered by the motor.Engine Mercedes OM364 - Engine Mercedes OM364

Depending on the version, the OM364’s four cylinders can generate between 66 and 100 kW of power. The motor has a displacement of 3972 cm² and two valves per cylinder. It requires regular valve clearance adjustments and has an OHV mechanism with rods and a gear drive of the lower camshaft. Compared to competitors’ radial single-plunger models, all injection pumps have more resources and are less vulnerable to inferior fuel. In this instance, the general diesel lubrication system includes the pump. There is also a turbocharged version of the engine, which has the highest power and is further identified by the letters LA.
