Since 2010, the company’s Chinese plant has assembled the 2.0-liter Geely JLD-4G20 engine, which powers the highly sought-after Atlas and Emgrand X7 crossovers. In essence, this power unit is a replica of the popular Toyota 1AZ-FE gasoline engine.

JLC-4G15, JLY-4G15, JLC-4G18, JLY-4G18, JLD-4G20, and JLD-4G24 are Toyota engine clones.

Disadvantages of the Geely JLD-4G20 engine
This power unit is incredibly dependable and causes the owners very little trouble;
However, it is occasionally disappointed by unreliable components and build quality; if the engine vibrates during cold start, replace the fuel rail with an updated model; candles rapidly fail due to poor fuel, followed by the catalyst;
Chain stretching and cylinder head cracks are uncommon and only occur with high mileage.
