Models like the Buick Regal, GMC Acadia, Cadillac XT6, Chevrolet Equinox, and Malibu are equipped with the 2.0-liter GM LSY turbo engine, which debuted in the American company’s lineup in 2018. An Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation system sets the power unit apart.

LSY, LTG, LCV, and LKW are members of GM Ecotec’s third generation.

Disadvantages of the GM LSY engine
In order to replace a faulty temperature sensor, motors from the initial years of production were recalled;
Like all direct injection engines, it has carbon deposits on the intake valves; its timing chain resource has increased compared to its predecessor and it can travel up to 200,000 kilometers; the remaining complaints are about oil leaks and noisy operation in certain modes.
