Engine Mini N18B16A

From 2010 until 2017, the Mini Clubman N18B16A 1.6-liter turbo engine was manufactured in England and fitted to every second-generation Mini model, ranging from the Clubman R55 to the Paceman R61. Many Peugeot and Citroen models under the EP6CDTS index had a similar motor installed.

Disadvantages of the Mini N18B16A engine

Although N18 series units are more dependable than their N14 predecessors, they still malfunction frequently;
An unpredictable direct injection system using piezo injectors is the source of many issues;
Additionally, the Valvetronic system and Vanos phase regulators frequently malfunction here;
Oil consumption and intake coking are the subject of numerous complaints on specialized forums;
This engine’s timing chain, thermostat, and pump are very small resources.
