Engine Mini N14B16A

The R56 Hatch, R57 Cabrio, and R55 Clubman station wagons were equipped with the 1.6-liter turbocharged Mini Cooper S N14B16A engine, which was manufactured in England between 2006 and 2010. Under its EP6DTS index, Peugeot and Citroen vehicles had the same power unit installed.

Disadvantages of the Mini N14B16A engine

The erratic direct fuel injection system is the most troublesome of these;
Large lubrication consumption and increased coking in the intake rank second;
Here, the timing chain has a limited resource; it frequently travels less than 50,000 kilometers;
Both the Vanos phase regulator and the vacuum pump are unreliable;
The thermostat, water pump, and lambda probes are additional engine weak points.
