From 2010 to 2016, the Ford plant in Wales produced the 3.2-liter Volvo B6324S5 engine, which was used in many of the company’s main models, including the V70, S80, XC60, XC70, and XC90. In essence, this power unit is just an upgraded B6324S motor.

The engines B6304T2, B6304T4, and B6324S are also part of the SHORT INLINE 6 family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Volvo S80 II (124) in 2010 – 2012;
- Volvo V70 III (135) in 2010 – 2016;
- Volvo XC60 I (156) in 2010 – 2012;
- Volvo XC70 III (136) in 2010 – 2016;
- Volvo XC90 I (275) in 2010 – 2014.

Disadvantages of the B6324S5 engine
The wear of the timing gearbox’s gears and bearings is the most significant issue here;
Additionally, oil frequently seeps around the vacuum pump and timing chain cover;
All you have to do is swap out the oil separator membrane with a loud whistle under the hood.
Because they are mounted on a single shaft, the power steering frequently fails due to the pump’s backlash;
On Volvo’s dedicated forums, owners talk about lubricant consumption the most.
