Only the Golf 7 and its platform models, the Audi A3 and Seat Leon, were equipped with the 1.4-liter Volkswagen CMBA 1.4 TSI engine, which the company assembled between 2012 and 2014. In 2013, an upgraded CXSA with a different cylinder head took its place in several markets.

Disadvantages of the VW CMBA engine

Due to the cylinder head’s marriage, these power units experienced high oil consumption in their first year of production;
Additionally, a lengthy warm-up and unnecessary noise during operation are complained about on specialized forums; additionally, there is a significant risk of ignition coil damage during routine candle replacement;
A strong electric motor can break off the wastegate actuator rod, which is frequently wedged;
