Engine Ford HMDA

Only the most expensive version of the Focus model under the RS index was equipped with the 2.0-liter Ford HMDA or 2.0 Duratec RS engine, which was manufactured exclusively between 2002 and 2003. There were only 4501 of these turbocharged power units made.

Disadvantages of the HMDA engine

Low-quality gasoline is a factor in the majority of engine issues;
Spark plugs, ignition coils, and fuel pumps are all rapidly disabled by bad fuel;
The phase regulator and engine turbine won’t last long without special oil;
The engine’s aluminum pan completely fails to withstand a blow in addition to hanging low;
The valves will need to be adjusted because hydraulic lifters are not offered here.
