Engine GM LM7

From 1999 until 2007, the company produced the GM LM7 or Vortec 5300 5.3-liter V8 engine, which was installed on SUVs and pickup trucks built on the GMT800 platform, including the Tahoe, Yukon, and Silverado. A Flexible-fuel version of this power unit is available under its own index, L59.

Disadvantages of the GM LM7 engine

Many overheating-related engine issues, keep an eye on the radiator and pump’s condition;
Leaks occur when plastic pipes and tees crack due to overheating;
A poor oil selection causes the camshaft liners to wear down quickly;
This engine’s adsorber, ignition coils, and fuel pump are also weak points.
