The company’s top models, including the S-Class sedan and coupe in the 220th body, were equipped with the 5.8-liter 12-cylinder Mercedes M137 E58 engine from 1999 to 2003. AMG has created its own 6.3-liter engine based on this power unit.

M120, M137, M275, and M279 are members of the V12 family.

Disadvantages of the M137 E58 engine
The network typically complains about frequent oil leaks brought on by gasket failure.
Additionally, there are costly and extremely unreliable coil packs for 24 spark plugs.
The wires may allow grease from the oil pressure sensor to reach the control unit.
Up to 200,000 kilometers can be covered by a strong-looking double-row timing chain.
This motor’s throttle assembly, generator, and flow meters are its weak points.
