Engine Mercedes M276 DE35

Since its introduction in 2010, the majority of the company’s current models, including the W205 and W222, have been equipped with the 3.5-liter Mercedes M276 V6 engine. Two atmospheric and turbocharged versions of this power unit are available.

Disadvantages of the M276 DE35 engine

The timing chain tensioners are the part of this power unit that causes the most trouble.
You will need to replace the timing kit with phase regulators if you fail to notice their failure.
These engines also frequently have displaced impulse disks on their camshafts.
Fuel quality has an impact on direct injection injectors.
There have been a few reports of catalyst crumb-related scuffing on specialized forums.
