Engine Volvo B5254T4

From 2003 to 2007, the Szęde plant assembled the 2.5-liter Volvo B5254T4 turbo engine, which was fitted to charged S60 and V70 models identified by the R index. Under the JZDA index, Ford Focus RS vehicles were equipped with a modified version of this type of turbo engine.

The B5252S, B5254S, B5254T, B5254T2, B5254T3, B5254T4, and B5254T6 are the five-cylinder 2.5-liter modular engine family.

The engine was mounted on:

  • Volvo S60 I (384) in 2003 – 2007;
  • Volvo V70 II (285) in 2003 – 2007.

Disadvantages of the B5254T4 engine

The owners’ primary grievances are associated with phase control system malfunctions;
Due to clogged crankcase ventilation, lubricant consumption is frequently quite high;
The wear of the turbine shaft is the primary cause of the oil burner after 150,000 kilometers;
A pump, a thermostat, a gasoline pump, and its supports are among the motor’s weak points. The timing belt may not travel the required 120,000 kilometers, and when it breaks, the valves bend.
