Engine Volkswagen AFN

From 1996 to 2000, the company produced the 1.9-liter VW AFN 1.9 TDI diesel engine, which was installed on the most popular models and is best known for the Passat B5. The presence of a turbine with variable geometry actually sets this type of diesel engine apart from the AHU unit.

Disadvantages of the VW AFN engine
