Engine Volkswagen BAC

Before being redesigned, the first generation of the Touareg GP SUV had a 2.5-liter Volkswagen BAC 2.5 TDI diesel engine, which was manufactured between 2003 and 2006. The shedding of the cylinder walls’ coating has made this diesel engine notorious.

Disadvantages of the VW BAC engine

This aluminum block lacks liners, and the cylinder walls’ coating is prone to shedding;
By 150,000 km, the tandem pump and unit-injectors frequently leak through the seals;
Rockers and camshaft cams frequently wear out after 200,000 kilometers of operation;
Additionally, the intake manifold is unreliable because it just cracks; additionally, a leak in the pump and heat exchanger may cause oil to mix with antifreeze.
