Since 2012, only the Rexton SUV, Rodius minivan, and Actyon Sports pickup truck have been equipped with the 2.0-liter diesel SsangYong D20DTR or 2.0 XDi. This diesel engine is essentially no longer manufactured after 2018; a 2.2-liter engine took its place.

D16DTF, D20DT, D20DTF, D20DTR, D22DTF, D22DTR, D23DT, D27DT, D27DTP, and D29DT are Ssangyong diesel engines.

Disadvantages of the SsangYong D20DTR engine
The Delphi fuel system, particularly the injection pump, is the source of the majority of these issues;
The routine disassembly of injectors that adhere to the cylinder head causes a great deal of trouble;
The engine’s temperature sensor and crankshaft damper are also weak points.
The network details instances in which low-speed driving causes the crankshaft liners to turn;
The timing chain is pulled and the turbocharger frequently fails at high mileage.
