Disadvantages of the Peugeot XUD9 engine

Diesel engines that are dependable, adaptable, and resourceful can cover 500,000 kilometers before needing to be overhauled;
The expansion tank’s low location is a design flaw; any drop in antifreeze causes it to instantly burst through the cylinder head gasket;
It is crucial to replace the fuel filter on schedule to avoid having to fix the injection pump;
Owners frequently shatter the costly glass when changing a fuel filter; an expensive valve clearance adjustment procedure is required every 100,000 kilometers; and instances of prechambers falling into cylinders during extremely long runs have been documented.
