Engine Renault R9N

Produced since 2018, the Renault-Nissan R9N, also known as the 1.7 dCi, is a 1.7-liter diesel engine that powers popular models like the Megane, Scenic, Talisman, Qashqai, and X-trail. The diesel versions, dCi 120 and dCi 150, have 120 horsepower and 300 Nm and 150 horsepower and 340 Nm, respectively.

R9M is another R-series diesel.

Disadvantages of the Renault R9N engine

This power unit is relatively new, and statistics regarding its malfunctions have not yet been gathered;
The particulate filter and the EGR valve typically have the most issues with such engines;
Modern Renault-Nissan diesel engines frequently have timing chains that extend up to 150,000 kilometers.
