From 2004 to 2009, the company produced the 1.8-liter Volvo B4184S11 gasoline engine, which was installed in the C30, S40, and V50 models built on the Focus 2 platform. Such a motor is essentially a copy of the QQDB power unit, as is its FlexiFuel version B4184S8.

The B4164S3, B4164T, B4204S3, and B4204T6 engines are part of the Ford lineup.
The engine was mounted on:

- Volvo S40 II (544) in 2004 – 2009;
- Volvo V50 I (545) in 2004 – 2009.

Disadvantages of the B4184S11 engine
The primary issues are floating revolutions, which are challenging to eliminate.
Usually, the intake swirl flaps or electronic throttle are to blame.
Additionally, because oil scraper rings are common here, lubricant consumption is frequently observed.
The fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator frequently malfunctions when using low-quality gasoline.
The timing chain and phase shifter may need to be replaced closer to 200,000 kilometers.
