From 2010 to 2016, Ford assembled the 1.6-liter turbocharged Volvo B4164T, also known as the 1.6 GTDi, and installed it on numerous P3 platform models, including the S60, S80, V60, and V70 in the T4 modification. A derated version of this turbo engine with the B4164T3 index was fitted to T3 modifications.

B4164S3, B4184S11, B4204S3, and B4204T6 are among the Ford engine lineup.
The engine was mounted on:
- Volvo S60 II (134) in 2010 – 2015;
- Volvo S80 II (124) in 2010 – 2016;
- Volvo V40 I (645) in 2012 – 2015;
- Volvo V60 I (155) in 2010 – 2015;
- Volvo V70 III (135) in 2010 – 2015.

Disadvantages of the B4164T engine
This turbo engine frequently leads the head and breaks the gasket because it is terrified of overheating;
Due to cooling system electromagnetic clutch failures, there was even a recall campaign;
The network details numerous instances of piston failure, even at low mileage;
Injectors in direct injection systems clog easily and cannot handle poor fuel;
Every 100,000 kilometers, the valves need to be adjusted because there are no hydraulic lifters.
