Disadvantages of the 2GR-FXS engine
This engine is dependable and hasn’t experienced any significant malfunctions as of yet;
Many complaints regarding oil leaks, particularly on the timing cover, can be found on specialized forums;
Engine speed frequently floats because of the electrovacuum canister purge valve’s wedge;
This motor was also covered by the mass recall to replace the low pressure fuel pump;
In addition, the pump and ignition coils are not the strongest.
