Engine Toyota 2GR-FXS

Only hybrid versions of the Highlander or Lexus RX450h crossover are equipped with the 3.5-liter V6 Toyota 2GR-FXS engine, which has been manufactured at a Japanese facility since 2015. The Atkinson cycle and the existence of a combined injection D4-S set this engine apart.

Disadvantages of the 2GR-FXS engine

This engine is dependable and hasn’t experienced any significant malfunctions as of yet;
Many complaints regarding oil leaks, particularly on the timing cover, can be found on specialized forums;
Engine speed frequently floats because of the electrovacuum canister purge valve’s wedge;
This motor was also covered by the mass recall to replace the low pressure fuel pump;
In addition, the pump and ignition coils are not the strongest.
