Since 2015, a Chinese plant has been producing the 3.5-liter V6 Toyota 7GR-FKS engine, which powers the Chinese version of the Land Cruiser Prado 150 SUV or the HiAce minibus. In essence, this unit is a variant of the well-known 2GR-FKS engine.

The engine was mounted on:
- Toyota HiAce 6 (H300) since 2019;
- Toyota LC Prado 150 (J150) in 2015 – 2020.

Disadvantages of the 7GR-FKS engine
Weaknesses include a short-lived water pump and ignition coils; all engines from the GR family came under recall to replace the fuel pump in the tank; in specialized forums, they frequently only complain about leaks, particularly on the timing cover; occasionally the engine speed floats here due to the canister purge vacuum valve wedge.
