Disadvantages of the 8GR-FKS engine
The engine is mostly complimented on specialized forums, with the exception of front-end leaks;
The pump is a well-known weak point of the series’ motors; keep an eye on its condition;
Coking on the intake valves is eliminated by combined injection; cars with this engine were subject to a recall campaign to replace the fuel pump in the tank.
