Disadvantages of the 2ZR-FAE engine
Owners typically complain about excessive oil consumption; the timing chain stretches after 150,000 km, and the pump resource rarely surpasses 50,000 km;
Floating engine speeds are caused by carbon deposits building up in the intake and on the throttle;
Frequently, the Valvematic system controller malfunctions, makes mistakes, or shuts off the engine;
Extraneous noises frequently accompany the motor’s operation, particularly from VVT-i clutches.
