Engine Toyota 8GR-FXS

Since 2017, the 3.5-liter V6 Toyota 8GR-FXS engine has been manufactured in Japan and is utilized in hybrid versions of vehicles like the Crown S220 and the Lexus LS500h and LC500h. This engine runs on the Atkinson cycle and has D-4S combined fuel injection.

Disadvantages of the 8GR-FXS engine

The engine is largely praised on specialized forums, with the only complaints being about lubricant leaks; the pump is the GR family units’ weak point; monitor its condition;
The issue of intake valve coking is resolved by combined injection;
There is a low pressure fuel pump replacement recall for models with this engine.
