Disadvantages of the 5M-EU engine

Cylinder head gasket failure is a well-known issue with power units in this series;
Owners frequently overtighten the head bolts in an attempt to stop oil leaks;
Here, contamination of the throttle or idle valve is typically the cause of floating speed;
The ignition system’s erratic behavior is typically linked to the remaining engine failures;
The valves need to be adjusted on a regular basis because there are no hydraulic lifters.
