Engine Toyota 1KR-DE

Only Southeast Asian compact models are equipped with the 1.0-liter Toyota 1KR-DE engine, which has been manufactured in Japan since 2012. This motor is as simple and inexpensive as possible; for instance, it lacks a phase regulator. The index 1KR-DE2 is carried by a slightly more potent version.

Disadvantages of the 1KR-DE engine

The timing chain can extend up to 100,000 kilometers, and the pump can leak up to 50,000 kilometers; Asian drivers notice its loud operation and strong vibrations.
