Disadvantages of the 1SZ-FE engine

This engine is highly sensitive to quality, particularly when it comes to the timing of oil changes;
The hydraulic tensioner’s wedge causes a chain jump and a valve-piston meeting;
Heat may cause air to leak into the intake manifold during extreme frost and vice versa.
Oil is transported through the system for a considerable amount of time after the engine starts due to the pump’s design; adjusting the valves is very challenging because you have to replace the entire drive sleeve.
