Disadvantages of the Toyota 1Y engine
This series’ engines have many original parts and are challenging to fix;
It has a unique ignition system and an advanced carburetor of its own;
The battle against air leaks lasts the entire life of the owner of a vehicle with such an engine;
Because the oil filter is positioned upside down, it is challenging to replace it without getting dirty; during extended runs, oil consumption frequently reaches 1 liter per 1000 kilometers.
