Disadvantages of the Mitsubishi 4N13 engine
The primary issues with the motor are related to the EGR valve and particulate filter contamination;
A tiny quantity of diesel fuel occasionally finds its way into the oil while the soot is burning;
For runs under 100,000 kilometers, some owners had to replace the timing chain;
There is a valve adjustment procedure with injector removal every 45,000 kilometers.
