Since 2012, the Japanese company has assembled the 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Mitsubishi 3A92 engine, which is mounted on the Space Star compact van, Mirage 6, or sedan based on its Attrage. Information regarding the version of this unit without the MIVEC phase regulator can be found in several sources.

The 3A90 and 3A91 engines are also part of the 3A9 family.
The engine was mounted on:
- Mitsubishi Attrage 1 (A10) since 2013;
- Mitsubishi Mirage 6 (A00) since 2012;
- Mitsubishi Space Star 2 (A00) since 2012.

Disadvantages of the Mitsubishi 3A92 engine
Although the engine on the Japanese market has a high compression ratio and is prone to detonation, the owners’ main grievances are about the oil burner because of rings;
A phase shifter is frequently used in conjunction with a thin timing chain, which typically varies up to 150,000 km;
A thermostat, ignition coils, and a buggy electric throttle are among its weaknesses;
Valve clearances must be changed on a regular basis because there are no hydraulic lifters.
