Disadvantages of the ED3 engine
Owners frequently lament an unreliable electronic choke on the forums;
Additionally, frequent antifreeze leaks from the thermostat unit result in numerous issues;
The fuel pump, crankshaft pulley damper, and engine mounts are the motor’s weak points;
Oil consumption or timing chain stretching are common on long runs;
There are no hydraulic compensators available, so valve clearances need to be changed.
