Since 2010, a plant in Mexico has been assembling the 6.4-liter V8 Dodge ESG or HEMI 6.4 engine, which is installed on charged Challenger, Charger, and Grand Cherokee models with the SRT8 index. This unit has a VCT phase regulator and an MDS half-cylinder deactivation system.

The internal combustion engines EZA, EZB, EZH, and ESF are also part of the HEMI series.
The engine was installed on:
- Chrysler 300C 2 (LD) in 2011 – …;

Disadvantages of the ESG engine
Not everyone will be able to handle this engine’s high fuel consumption, despite its extreme dependability.
Hydraulic lifters and MDS systems require 5W-20 type oil.
The EGR valve becomes dirty and sticks easily when low-quality fuel is used;
Furthermore, the studs holding the exhaust manifold in place could burst, and it might lead here. Hemi ticking is a term used to describe strange noises that are often heard underneath the hood.
