The Volvo D7E280 is a 7.2-liter in-line, six-cylinder, turbocharged, intercooled diesel engine. The engine produces 280 horsepower and 1,050 Nm of torque. It satisfies both the Euro 4 and Euro 5 emission standards.

The Volvo D7E engines have outstanding technical qualities. They can be used in extremely challenging circumstances without running the risk of malfunctions and breakdowns. They also have sound insulation, which is another benefit. Common Rail technology is used to carry out fuel injection. The engine is Euro 4 and Euro 5 compliant when combined with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.

Power and torque versus rpm graph

The EMS electronic engine management system for accurate fuel injection and effective combustion enables low emission levels and low fuel consumption. The gases are forced to disperse along the combustion chamber’s edges by the recesses in the piston’s annular zones. This guarantees effective combustion. Both a lower rotational speed and a smaller pressure drop are provided by the cylinder head’s inlet port shape. Efficiency is also increased by this technical solution.
