Engine MAN D2866

There are two versions of the MAN D2866 diesel engine series: D2866 2V and D2866 4V. This series’ 4-stroke engines have six cylinders. The engines employ a direct injection system, which has several benefits. An exhaust turbocharger with an intermediate cooling system is a feature of MAN D2866 engines. This model’s engines use regular water as a coolant.

Electricity generators use MAN D2866 2V motors, which are made for industrial use. The generators should be categorized as LTP-units (Limited Time Power) based on the type of load; that is, they operate in the so-called standby mode, which permits them to be used for up to 500 hours annually at variable power and 300 consecutive hours (with maintenance breaks) without overloads.

A motor variant for producing sets of the PRP (Prime Power) classification type is the MAN D2866 4V. This kind is predicated on the generator being used continuously to produce energy for an infinite number of hours annually. Unlike the LTP type, these generators can tolerate overload. True, but only 10% of the allowed power, once every 12 hours, and for no more than an hour.

The MAN D2866 4V has a capacity of 11.9 liters. The engines weigh 1180 kg, and depending on the modification, they can produce 280 or 322 kW of power. Depending on the configuration, the engines in this series have a maximum torque of either 1782 Nm or 1708 Nm.

The MAN D2866 2V engines have a working area of 11.9 liters. The rotation speed can be either 1500 rpm (50 Hz) or 1800 rpm (60 Hz), depending on the modification. As a result, 360–400 kW of power are produced.

Produced since 1998, the D 2866 LF34 is a six-cylinder in-line engine with water cooling. The engine has a 11967 cc capacity and produces 310 horsepower (228 kW).
