Disadvantages of the VW CDVC engine
The owners’ only grievance with this dependable engine is its excessive fuel consumption.
This engine has carbon buildup on the intake valves, just like all direct injection engines.
The crankcase ventilation system’s membrane frequently breaks and needs to be replaced.
After 250,000 kilometers of operation, the extremely durable timing chain drive needs to be replaced.
Rarely, but when a regulator fails, the injection pump experiences leakage and an increase in pressure.
