Disadvantages of the VW AXD engine

Leaks in the tandem pump and nozzle seals are a major issue;
An aluminum cylinder block without liners is prone to scuffing and is terrified of bad diesel fuel;
Grease mixes with antifreeze and oil system heat exchangers frequently leak;
Rockers, camshaft lobes, or injectors may wear out after 250,000 kilometers;
There are plenty of other malfunctions here, but they are less frequent and less costly.
