Only since 2015 has the company assembled the 3.0-liter Audi CVMD 3.0 TDI diesel engine, which is mounted on modifications of the Q7, Q8, and Volkswagen Touareg 3 crossovers. Particularly for certain markets, its power is restricted to 249 horsepower.

The engine was installed on:

Disadvantages of the Audi CVMD engine
The camshafts on the first-year units were replaced under warranty because of noise under the hood;
Additionally, there were several instances of oil pump failure during runs of up to 50,000 kilometers;
Bad fuel is a fear shared by all contemporary Common Rail systems with piezo injectors.
An advanced EGR system may encounter issues after 100–120 thousand kilometers;
Stretching the timing chains is highly likely closer to 250,000 kilometers.
