The Cummins 6CT/6CTA 8.3 is an 8.3-liter 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine intended for use in power plants and other comparable industrial machinery.

- 6CTA – turbocharged and air-to-air intercooler;
- 6CTAA – turbocharged and air-to-air aftercooled.
Over the last 25 years, the engine has established a strong reputation in commercial maritime transportation. Perfect for fire pumps, power and hydraulic installations, standby power supplies, and marine power supplies. IMO Tier I certified; numerous features have IMO Tier II certification. The Darlington Engine Plant in Darlington, UK, is where the engines are made.
