The popular Galaxy and S-MAX minivans were the only vehicles equipped with the 2.2-liter Ford KNWA engine, also known as the 2.2 TDCi Duratorq DW, which was manufactured from 2010 to 2015. Actually, there are several options available for the French diesel DW12CTED4.

The QXWA, TXDA, and Q4BA internal combustion engines are also part of the Duratorq-DW line.
The engine was installed on:
- Ford Galaxy Mk2 in 2010 – 2015;
- Ford S-MAX Mk1 in 2010 – 2015.

Disadvantages of the KNWA engine
Piezo injectors in sophisticated fuel equipment dislike poor fuel;
Regular filter changes are necessary to prevent the Common Rail system from failing too soon.
You need specialized drilling equipment in order to replace or repair nozzles;
Naturally, there are already enough issues with the particulate filter, EGR valve, and turbine.
