Only the second generation of the Emgrand X7 crossover and the GS hatchback currently have the 1.8-liter Geely JLC-4G18 or 1.8 DVVT engine, which has been manufactured in China since 2016. The JLY-4G18 motor, which already has two phase regulators, is modified into this power unit.

JLC-4G15, JLY-4G15, JLC-4G18, JLY-4G18, JLD-4G20, and JLD-4G24 are Toyota engine clones.

Disadvantages of the Geely JLC-4G18 engine
The motor is largely praised on specialized forums, and no flaws have yet been discovered;
This timing chain has a lengthy lifespan and covers distances exceeding 150,000 kilometers;
There are no hydraulic lifters, and valve clearances must be changed every 100,000 kilometers. After 200,000 kilometers, oil scraper rings frequently lie down and an oil burn develops.
