From 2012 until 2022, the American plant produced the 2.5-liter General Motors LCV engine, which was fitted to well-known models like the Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Malibu, and Buick Envision. Numerous improvements have been made to this power unit to lessen vibration and noise.

LSY, LTG, LCV, and LKW are members of the third generation of GM Ecotec.

Disadvantages of the GM LCV engine
This engine is praised on specialized forums and is thought to be very dependable.
The uneven idling or gurgling sounds at startup are the subject of all complaints.
Intake valves are covered in soot, just like all direct injection units.
Strong lubricant leaks through the oil pressure sensor also occur on occasion.
