Engine Hyundai-Kia G4FP

Since 2019, popular models like the Sonata, Elantra, and K5 have been equipped with the Hyundai G4FP 1.6-liter turbo engine, also known as the Smartstream 1.6 T-GDI. A new CVVD variable valve timing system sets this turbo engine apart.

Disadvantages of the Hyundai G4FP engine

The new CVVD variable valve timing system’s dependability is unknown.
The direct fuel injection system causes the valves to become quickly overgrown with soot; the turbine is new here, and we hope it won’t drive oil on low runs;
The valves will need to be adjusted because hydraulic lifters did not appear.
