Engine Hyundai-Kia G4KP

The Sorento and Santa Fe crossovers, as well as charged Sonata N-Line and K5 GT models, are equipped with the 2.5-liter Hyundai-Kia G4KP or Smartstream G 2.5 T-GDi engine, which has been put together since 2020. The GDi + MPi combined fuel injection system sets this turbo engine apart.

Disadvantages of the Hyundai G4KP engine

Since this turbo engine has only recently been introduced, it is too soon to discuss its dependability;
The existence of combined injection resolves the issue of coking inlet valves;
Timing chains are rapidly pulled by powerful turbocharged powertrains;
You must keep an eye on the cooling system of this extremely hot engine, and variable displacement oil pump units don’t increase reliability.
