Since 2009, factories in Korea and the USA have been producing the 3.5-liter V6 Hyundai G6DC engine, which has been fitted to numerous front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models of the Korean company, including the Sorento and Santa Fe crossovers, the Cadenza and Grandeur sedans, and the Carnival minivan.

G6DC, G6DS, G6DU, G6DT, and G6DV are members of the Lambda 3.5L family.
The engine was mounted on:

- Hyundai Palisade 1 (LX2) since 2020;
- Hyundai Santa Fe 2 (CM) in 2009 – 2012; Santa Fe 4 (TM) in 2018 – 2020;
- Kia Cadenza 1 (VG) in 2009 – 2016; Cadenza 2 (YG) in 2020 – 2021;
- Kia Carnival 2 (VQ) in 2010 – 2014;

Disadvantages of the Hyundai G6DC engine
The most common grievance on specialized forums is the increasing lubricant consumption;
The quick development of oil scraper rings is typically the cause of the oil burn here;
Keep an eye on the cooling system because the aluminum engine fears overheating;
Initially, there were a lot of complaints regarding the timing resource, particularly the hydraulic tensioner; since hydraulic lifters are not available, valve clearances must be changed.
