From 1992 to 2002, the company produced the 1.5-liter Mazda B5-ME gasoline engine, which was used in the basic modifications of the Kia Sephia and the popular Demio model in the Asian market. This unit is available in a version that uses the B5-MI index and mono-injection rather than distributed.

B1, B3, B3-ME, B5, B5-DE, B5-ME, B6, B6-ME, B6-DE, BP, and BP-ME are all members of the B-engine family.
The engine was mounted on:

Disadvantages of the Mazda B5-ME engine
The ignition system has the most issues, according to the activity on the specialized forums.
Low-quality oil can easily cause damage to engines with hydraulic compensators.
The oil pump pressure relief valve is another area where the motor is weak.
The timing belt is supposed to change every 60,000 kilometers, but the valves don’t bend when it breaks.
Oil scraper rings may lie down and lubricant consumption will manifest closer to 200,000 kilometers.
