Engine Mercedes M260

Since 2018, the Sindelfingen plant has been producing the 2.0-liter Mercedes M260 engine, which is fitted to vehicles with a transverse powertrain, like the A-Class and B-Class. The longitudinal version of this motor has the M264 index and cast iron liners.

Disadvantages of the Mercedes M260 engine

Use high-quality fuel because detonation can cause damage to pistons.
The Camtronic system occasionally fails, but when it does, the cost of repair is very high.
Carbon buildup on the intake valves and variations in engine speed are caused by the direct injection fault.
This line of gasoline engines has an intriguing resource: a particulate filter.
